Professor Antonio Ginjeira is a prominent figure in the field of dental medicine, with a remarkable academic career and a significant contribution to the development of Endodontics. He graduated in Medicine in 1982 and in Dentistry in 1985, demonstrating a strong commitment to oral health. In 2008, he obtained his PhD in Dentistry, specializing in Endodontics, which solidified his expertise in root canal treatments and the management of endodontic conditions.

Currently, Professor Ginjeira holds the position of full professor and is the head of the Endodontic Department at the Lisbon Dental School (Faculdade de Medicina Dentária – Universidade de Lisboa). He also directs a post-graduate program, contributing to the training of new generations of specialists in Endodontics.

In addition to his teaching activities, he represents Portugal in the European Society of Endodontology, where he contributes to the development of standards and practices in the field. He had the honor of serving as the president of the 16th Congress of the ESE, held in Lisbon in 2013, an important event that brought together specialists from across Europe.

Through his dedication to academic excellence and involvement in the scientific community, Professor Antonio Ginjeira proves to be an influential leader in Endodontics, having a significant impact on dental education and practice in Portugal and beyond.
